Japan Box Office: Saekano Fine Film Climbs Up to #6 Again from Last Week's #10

The official Twitter for Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Fine, the final chapter of the anime adaptation series based on Fumiaki Maruto's romance comedy light novel series, expressed their surprise because the film climbed up to the sixth place again in its fourth weekend from last week's tenth.

The 115-minute film was released in 121 theaters in Japan on October 26, 2019, then ranked fifth with 130 million yen in its first weekend, sixth in its second, then tenth in its third. It was expected to drop out from the box office top 10 ranking this week. But instead, it has kept a very good hold.

In addition to the overwhelming reviews from the audience, one of the reasons for its box office success is the gorgeous bonus items for theatergoers including the seven-part follow-up novel books newly-written by the original author Maruto. The fourth weekend theatergoers have received a bonus novel "Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend After [Four Years Later] " and an A5-size pinup poster provided by the film's production company CloverWorks.
