Hello!
Happy Monday!

It's my DT day at Vera Lane Studio and today I have a project featuring Marie Antoinette, a new set which is released today.

Marie Antoinette was the beautiful, but extravagant Queen of France who, after the poor harvests and increased grain prices of the 1780s when the poor could not afford bread, is attributed as flippantly saying, 'Let them eat cake.' However, it is unlikely that she said these words and it is widely thought they were accredited to her by French revolutionary propaganda to portray her as uncaring and ignorant.

Here is my card:

I coloured Marie with Copic markers. I added some white Posca pen highlights and dots and some Crystal Stickles to add sparkle to her hair decorations and cake toppers. Her background is a gelli print from Fresco chalk paints. White gesso was applied through a couple of stencils and Broken China Distress Oxide was used through a stencil, for stamping the text and to edge the background. Black archival ink was used along the very edge of the background.
I added a strip of sparkly, metallic, pink lace to ground Marie and her gorgeous cake and cut the sentiment into strips, inked the edges and glued them onto the background.

I hope you'll come along and play on Vera Lane.
